Inspired by the movie 'American Psycho' (2000)

I chose several objects while keeping themes and ideas of capitalism, vanity, dehumanization, and no limits. My intent with this image is to communicate American violence, deception, hunger, and greed. As represented in the work, this neat yet overwhelming number of luxuries represents imbalance and disregard for human life. Only some will have life's treats handed to them, grabbing so many that there are none left for the rest.

Using the design elements from Memorial Presbyterian Church and Ancient City Baptist Church, I found inspiration for sharp and everchanging roofs. I was really inspired by the shapes of the windows, and the details of the buildings. I really enjoyed the round part of the Presbyterian Church that was surrounded and supported by pillars

I was inspired to make this sculpture by the St. Photios Shrine and San Marcos monument. I was inspired by the deep curves and walls from San Marcos. I also used the castle-like pattern for the trim, and added a flag to my sculpture due to this. St. Photios inspired the arches, and free space created inside of my piece. The wood and rocks in St. Augustine near St. Photios inspired the more traditional look.

While exploring the materials to build the sculptures, I wanted to focus on experimentation, learning, woodwork and fun. I decided to include spare materials I found as well. I spent hours in the woodshop, experimenting with various shapes and methods. I want to keep exploring with wood and wire in the future.
